The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) is the lead committee for the data protection reform package. It will be in charge of developing the European Parliament’s position on the proposals, taking the opinions of the other committees into account.

The rapporteur for the LIBE Committe is Dimitrios Droutsas (S&D), and the shadow rapporteurs are Axel Voss (EPP), Jan Philipp Albrecht (Greens/EFA), Cornelia Ernst (GUE/NGL), Alexander Alvaro (ALDE) and Timothy Kirkhope (ECR).
